Year 9 ..

It’s literally been soooo long since I last saw you all and it’s just crazy that we are going into year 9! The last major things we did together were SATs and Panto Pandemonium, and now in Year 9 I’m starting my GCSEs.. ! Omg.

I hope you are all okay and school is great 🙂 Oh, and you too Mr Holder!

I’d love to hear from some of you again!

Govind 🙂

Sunny Day!

As I sat on the dry, freshly-cut grass, I saw the beautiful daisies scattered around like the puffy clouds in the bright blue sky. They had grown again, already. I looked up to see a new picture meet my eyes. The blinding sun glowed as the little birds swooped down and up through the long-lasting day. Their peaceful song filled my ears. Bees buzzed joyfully as they collected pollen, wasps stung and butterflies fluttered their pretty wings under the warmth of the sun. The clouds, all different shapes and sizes, moved slowly across the sky followed by the white planes.

Chocolate Dream…!

Do you like chocolate? If so, read on…

As our purple Fiat 500 pulled up outside the magnificent chocolate shop – named ‘Chocolate For You’ – my ever-gazing eyes scrutinized the brown chocolate behind the double-glazed window. Although they didn’t have white-chocolate (my favourite!), I still didn’t mind eating some milk-chocolate. Despite not being allowed it for a week because of my bad behaviour, I still dared to ask my parents if I could eat some chocolate.

“NO!” they answered firmly.

My wonderful dream was because of this fabulous day. I, Willy Wonka, opened the biggest chocolate factory in the world!

I go to Kumon.

Kumon is a method of studying that started in Japan. There are lots of centres all over the world in which you can learn the Kumon method. It teaches both, maths and english.
Toru Kumon began to teach his son in 1954 since he was having problems at school with mathmatics. Toru Kumon developed the Kumon Method. With the help of parents who liked the Kumon method, he opened the first Kumon Centre in Japan in 1956.  In 1958, Kumon Centres began to open around the world. Since 2011, approximately 16 million students have been studying using Kumon. From 2009, over 4 million students were studying under the Kumon Method at more than 26,000 Kumon Centers in 46 countries.
Millions of people go to Kumon, I am one of them. I started in Year 1 holidays when I was 6 years old. I started on one of the lower levels after my instructer, Larry, decided how well I did in my starting test which consisted on 10 pages of sums. You can shortenen the amount of pages to 5 if you wish. I left in Year 3 holidays and started up again in the middle of Year 5, last year. Since then, I have moved up many levels and now in my G League which is a very high level. I chose to do both subjects, math and english, and I am on level G in both.
If you would like to start Kumon or would like to find out more about it, click this. Kumon UK   I am sure there’s centres in other countries however, I can’t find links to theses sites. Try typing into your search box:  Kumon.

An Orange Cat?

Slowly, I walked towards the small bath placed at the back of the room. I heard mysterious splashing sounds from downstairs so I decided to take a look at what might be up there. As I was walking towards the bath, I noticed that the curtains in the other room, that I had closed earlier that day, had been separated!  Anxiously, I crept towards the bath. The splashing sounds grew louder as I came closer to the object. I dared to take a peek at the contents of the white bath. To my surprise, an orange cat was sitting there!!

Is Exploring Always A Good Idea?

Bored, I sat fidgeting in front of the blazing fire thinking, just wondering, what on earth I could do to pass time. Walking! Exploring! So this was what I decided to do…

Slipping on my white coat, I stepped outside breathing in the fresh air. Meandering around for a few minutes, I came across steep steps that looked like they led up to a wonderland of adventures. I didn’t know what to do. Should I climb them? Should I venture further into unknown territory? I chose to do so. Having no proper idea of where I was going, I climbed…

The Car Stopped Suddenly…

Moments later, I carefully and gently opened my blurry eyes. I could see around about 2 or 3 of everything around me. Pounding, my heart was almost about to burst out of my chest while my hurting head was throbbing. At the same time as my eyes returning back to their normal state, I cautiously got up from the car’s seat and sat back into a relaxing position. I was not quite sure if my parents had realised what had happened to me; I wasn’t too sure either!  Slowly, I looked at of the window and the car stopped suddenly…

What’s That? (500 Word Challenge).

Loudly, the heavy rain poured down as the angry wind howled at the roaring thunder. The freezing night outside was nowhere near the cosiness of our small cottage. While I watched the rain outside, I sat in front of the burning fire. We had no electricity because of the rain. Even though I was sitting in front of the fire, I was still shivering all over.

As I looked around the dark room, I thought I saw something- I didn’t know what it was but I was too scared to stand up and search. After a moment or two, my mother came into the gloomy room holding a candle in one hand and a blanket in the other. She gave the blanket to me to wrap around myself for warmth and put the candle on the table in the middle of the room to help the roasting fire illuminate the room.

I didn’t tell her about what I had seen but I am not sure if that was the wisest decision. I kept my lips zipped as I stared outside at the starry sky. A few moments later, I looked at the corner of the room where I saw it; I kept looking and saw it again. I saw it more clearly the second time round: it was some sort of ghost like person with a sharp knife in its hand. I saw its eyes. They were red.

I screamed as soon as I saw the knife, got up and went to my mother. She instantly looked in the same direction I was looking and got on her feet as well. The figure disappeared when my mother grabbed the diminutive candle placed on the small, wooden table. She took small steps up to the corner by the door and then exited the room: I followed. All I could hear was my heart pounding in my chest which faded out the sound of the thunderous rain.

Me and my mother stood dead in our tracks when we saw the person again at the top of the stairs. Rapidly, the shape vanished. We waited a few seconds before we started our walk up the steep steps. I felt like I was going to faint because of everything that was going on around me. Finally, we reached the top, still with me hiding behind my mother’s back. We saw it slowly drift into a wooden cupboard. We walked towards it – our hearts beating hastily now. When we opened it, I hoped that we wouldn’t see it and we would be opening the door to Narnia but that obviously wasn’t going to happen.

When we opened it, it was empty…

My mother looked around the cupboard through the coats, but still, nothing was there. My nerves seemed to have calmed down however, I wasn’t calmed down; I knew that that wasn’t the end of this haunting night. I turned around timidly. It was there. My mother turned around. The figure made the first move…

The Holocaust.

The Holocaust was one of history’s most frightening times. I feel horrified to know that Adolf Hitler killed millions of Jews just because they were rich, powerful and most of all different.

We had a visit from a lady called Lia Lesser who was lucky enough to survive the Holocaust.  Because of her visit, and previous knowledge, I have learnt that Lia and about 600 other children were saved by one man; Nicholas Winton. The children that were saved were brought to England on Kinder Transport and were looked after by this man. Other unluckier people were taken to Concentration Camps where they were slaved and were given very little to eat for survival. Unfortunately, many Jews died because they were starved. Lia lost her family because of the terrible Concentration Camps. I hope that nothing like this ever happens again, it’s bullying which will get you nowhere in life.

My Trip…

I was sitting in our car looking at all of the frost outside. It was the only thing I could do to keep me occupied, we were on our way to London – our new home. I didn’t really want to go but I didn’t have my say in the decision. Many things passed our car as we drove on, things such as green caravans – very unusual – a little girl running with her friends. I then felt very lonely, I thought about school; I would have to make new friends. Suddenly, I felt a heavy weight on my back and instantly fell to the car’s seat…

The Piano

The notes of the piano whistled in my ears. I sat listening to the peaceful sound. Suddenly, the soft sound grew louder, deeper and messier; I had no idea what was going on. I felt like the piano was controlling me, putting me under a spell because I felt weak and couldn’t move any part of my body. Some sort of tornado appeared then and started sucking me up, I couldn’t stop it; I couldn’t move! Lots of colours, shapes and patterns where rapidly whizzing past me in all directions. I even tried to close my eyes but I could still see the horrible objects…

Happy New Year!!

DING! DONG! DING! DONG! As Big Ben struck midnight, the first fantastic bang of the ten minute firework display was heard by the entire country! A kaleidoscope of bright colours filled the liquorice, black sky. Everyone knew that it was a new start for us all. People lucky enough to stand in front of the London eye and near Big Ben all held hands, swayed and sang a traditional song as sweet as angels. Looking around, you could see millions of smiles. Everybody was in a merry and jolly mood, with a huge, happy smile on their faces, wondering what the new year of 2013 would bring them…

The Mystery Box by Govind

As I stood like a statue, the mysterious, black box, wrapped with a silky, pink ribbon, stared at me waiting for someone to vigorously pull the ribbon off and lift the lid. I couldn’t do it; I was told not to touch it as it wasn’t for me – it was for my 5year old cousin, it was her birthday tomorrow. It was so tempting, I couldn’t hold back but I knew I had to. After a moment, the box somehow started to control my brain and made me fall on my knees and made me pull the ribbon and lift the lid…
